Skyborne Race Guide: Factions, Classes and Access
Check Skyborne class choices by faction, starting zone, and purchase requirements before picking your WoW Forever character.
What is Skyborne?
Skyborne is a new playable race in World of Warcraft: Forever with a level 1–12 starting experience on Zephras Isle. Skyborne is not automatically part of standard game access: Blizzard says you must have the Skyborne Heroic Pack or a higher qualifying edition. Confirm what's included in the edition you own before making plans with friends.
Which classes can Skyborne play?
Alliance-aligned High Order
Druid, Hunter, Rogue, Warrior and Mage. Mage is the Alliance-only Skyborne option.
Horde-aligned Windshaper
Druid, Hunter, Rogue, Warrior and Shaman. Shaman is the Horde-only Skyborne option.
These are restrictions from Blizzard's official published character-creation table; this page is not suggesting one Skyborne class is objectively strongest.
Should you buy an upgrade specifically for Skyborne?
Only if you particularly want the race or its other clearly listed extras. For class selection, plenty of playable combinations do not require it. For example, a player who mainly wants a Hunter can choose a standard eligible race without buying Skyborne access. Do not treat the upgrade as necessary to compete.
Questions to resolve before purchase
Are you playing with Alliance or Horde friends? Does your preferred class exist for your chosen Skyborne alignment? Do you actually want its look and starting story? Would you enjoy playing the same class on a non-Skyborne race? Answer those before spending money.
Keep planning
